Context

Idea one.

To create a social media brand on the topics of Fashion and Music which makes content in the forms of: Magazines, Articles, Social media videos, and mini–TV Packages with a fellow peer. The magazine would be around 8 pages of articles with relevant ads in it from other peers. The articles which will be inside the magazine will consist of content about current trends and brands. The social media videos will consist of content about fashion tips, get ready with me videos, and new music releases. The mini-TV Packages will consist of information on ‘fast-fashion’ and why it is bad. This idea is challenging and ambitious because the world of fashion and music is always changing. There is a lot to keep up with but me and my peer who I’ll be working with are both very passionate about these subjects so I believe we can overcome every problem we face and get this done at a high-quality standard.

Idea two.

To create a short documentary on a local non-league club as a follow up or sequel to last year's final major project. The question these would all be asked is ‘Do non-league clubs provide enough funding?’. This would consist of trying to get interviews with players, the manager, anyone who works for the club and the fans of the club. I would also go to a game to see how many fans go to these games to watch non-league clubs and if they help with the funding with ticket prices etc. But I then thought about how challenging this idea is considering I did a very similar thing the year prior. I feel like for the Final Extended Project we need to go up above and beyond, which I don’t think this quite does, as it seems lazy to me to do something that I had done the year before.

Idea three.

To create a TV Package/Short documentary on fashion in charity shops and how they are useful for us. I would get interviews from people who shop in charity shops and why they think more people should engage and buy from charity shops. I am heavily interested in fashion and think that charity shops are incredibly underrated for fashion, especially at the price they sell it for. Another reason for this is to encourage people to buy 2nd hand as this is a lot better for the environment than 'fast fashion'. I would speak on why fast fashion is bad and what is doing to the fashion world.

Final Idea

My final idea for my year two Final Extended Project is to create a Social media brand which focuses on the topics of Music and Fashion. We aim to make this brand as successful as possible using the time we have. The content we will be producing is social media videos, articles, TV Packages, and a magazine. Our short term goals for this project are to gain a small loyal following which interact which each of our videos to help boost the algorithm, then for our long term goal we would like a large following so we can influence trends and give our views on them. Also, this could help out small clothing businesses if we promote their brand for them, which also brings in an income for us. This idea is challenging and ambitious because of how much there is to write and talk about. The world of fashion and music is constantly moving with trends coming in and out, but we are on top of every trend and making content about it while it is at its peak. I believe we can do very well and overcome all of the challenges we may face as we are strong minded individuals and have our goals set already. I chose to do this over my other two ideas because I believe it is most relevant for me. I think I can do best with this idea as I am very much interested and involved with the music and fashion scene. I can go above and beyond with this idea, creating merchandising and promoting it in different ways which aren’t popular, for example making stickers with QR codes to our social media’s on. This makes us stand out from the crowd and can help us grow into what we want to be long term. This lines up with my progression plan because I have wanted to own a social media brand for a while, and the topics which I am using interest me a lot, which helps with creating content and not being demotivated.

Peer Feedback

As you can see from this feedback, student 2 and 3 seem to think I will not have he time to complete everything I want to. This is a chance to prove people wrong and I am extremely motivated to do so. student 1 and 4 think I will struggle to gain a large audience, even though this was a long term goal I didn't set for the FEP but just in general, I understand where they are coming from. It isn't easy to become a famous social media brand, it takes consistency and loyalty. These answers impact my project because it gives me ideas on where I may have been too optimistic but yet still do-able.

Again, 1, 2 and 4 both know that I am clearly passionate about fashion which makes making content for the brand more easy, as I enjoy what I will be doing. Student 3 says I won't run out of ideas, which I agree with, as the fashion world is always changing and so are trends. These answers impact my project because it gives me motivation knowing that people know how dedicated and passionate I am about this topic, which also explains how much content I will create.

Proposal

Slight change of mind.

Originally, I was going to be working along-side fellow peer Isaac to create this brand. And we still are, except, we will be focusing on our best aspects, which means me doing the social media (TikTok and Instagram) and Creating the Off Brand Magazine.

Whereas Isaac will be creating the Off Brand website and the Off Brand Spotify account.

​

We decided to do this to avoid any conflict we may come across, and it also means that the content we produce will be of higher quality.
